In the present study, a typical flux containing 90wt% NaCl-KCl, 8wt% Na2SiF6 and 2wt% CaF2 was used to remove the inclusions from the melts of A380 and A319 aluminum alloy scraps. The effect of flux amount on refining efficiency was investigated using tensile test, reduced pressure test (RPT), metallography and SEM. The effect of flux on the 6063 wrought aluminum melts was also studied. On the basis of the obtained results, the optimum amount of flux in the refining process was determined.
